Aaron makes WILD BOAR PIZZA
On this rambling episode ‘Chewsday’ we turn up the production values for the cooking segment. We get creative in the kitchen with a collaboration with Singularity films and making wild boar pizza.
With a catch up on fitness and some barking deer spotted on my walk.
For the pizza base you will need:
500g plain flour (purists will argue that it needs to me 000. if you have it go for your life if not plain will work just fine)
7g dried yeast
2tsp salt
2tsp sugar
a squirt of olive oil
and enough water to to make your dough soft and shaggy.
Toppings:
Go for it, try anything you have in the fridge and think will be nice. Put the pineapple down! We are not making a cake!
Tommy sauce:
You can use plain passata for your tomato base and just sprinkle on some dried oregano for flavour, or you can cook up a special base with some onion, tomatoes, garlic, herbs like oregano, basil, parsley and let that stew down until its a sauce, then let it cool before using it on the pizza.
For the Cheese:
You can use the shredded mozzarella shown but not used in the film or the fresher mozzarella balls that are better, i am still on the hunt for somewhere that stocks low moisture fresh mozzarella so your pizza doesn’t go swampy.
Failing that use some cheddar or again what ever you have knocking about.
The first rule about pizza making is there are no rules.
Second rule is get your oven as hot as your possibly can (safely)
third use something in the oven that can hold heat like a pizza stone or an up turned baking tray to cook your pizza on, this will ensure you get a nice cooked brown base and no soggy floppy slice.
So you have what you need, whats stopping you. You’ll never order one again believe me.
